Day 9 The Panda...and the hair

The much anticipated meeting with Mr. Panda Bear went very well. AJ was very intrigued with his antics and at one point she seemed to be in a total trance, her eyes following him wherever he went. She is getting used to the stuffed panda we got her, so to see the real thing, live and in person, cruising around his pen had to be surreal for her. AJ was also a very big fan of the elephants, the hippo and the monkeys (especially the monkeys with the red rear ends). Being that it was close to 100 today with crazy humidity, AJ fell asleep for the last part of the zoo and the entire van ride home. When we returned to the hotel, AJ was awake and WIRED, so we took her to the pool...AND SHE LOVED IT!!!!! She splashed and giggled the entire time, completely drenching herself in the process. I was worried that she was getting too much chlorinated water in her mouth, so I was not the fan favorite when I made the call to leave the water. She has been pissed at me ever since...the little diva. At our traditional Chinese dinner tonight, complete with traditional Chinese clothing (except for Robin, who is saving hers for later in the week) AJ attempted to eat her cheerios with chopsticks (to no avail). She then proceeded to have the meltdown of the century, which is still happening as I type. (She is probably pissed at us for the shots yesterday!!) So, before I go use some of my school psych tricks to help calm AJ down...a quick Robin story. Robin went to the front desk today to show them her green hair (it is getting worse by the way and yes Linda Z, it is now the color of Jade...Karma is a bitch for the Jade Princess!! :) If you notice in some of the pictures tonight, Robin wore a green dress...to match her hair...that is the main reason she did not wear her traditional blue silk Chinese dress. The manager sent Robin to the salon, where she was met by the manager of the pool, who was apologizing profusely. A team of four (stylist, shampoo lady, color lady etc. approached Robin and wanted to give her a free color job followed by cutting the bottom of her hair (four inches worth) to eliminate the green. After Robin almost ran out of the salon, they decided to give her a free shampoo and drying. She will also get another one this week, on the house. Robin did say it was the BEST shampoo ever...the little Chinese lady who did it had the strongest hands in the world and used those strong mitts to give the worlds greatest scalp massage. Until tomorrow...

pic 2: is that Robin's new jewelry chest in the backround?
pic 3: tell robin, "hmm hmm hmm-hmm hmm-hmm hmmmmm!"
also, I like Addison's technique of using chopsticks to extract the crumbs from the snack trap!

  2. Can't wait to read the story that comes with these pictures:-) I have to ask if Robin or Addison has more outfit changes in a day:-) I love the pic of AJ sleeping on daddy! Bet Robin didn't go under water in the pool this time:-) I have to give you a Jazzy update. She is going to be a wonderful babysitter for Addison! Yesterday Jon brought Jayden over. Jazz licked Jayden from head to toe which Jayden seemed to enjoy. Jon let this go until I hear him say, "No Jayden, you don't lick Jazzy back, just pet her." Apparently Jayden was trying to return the favor, lol! Later I had him on a blanket on the floor in the living room. I was talking to your mom in the kitchen when Jayden began to fuss. YOur mom said, "Quick Jazzy, go check on the baby." Jaz ran right into the living room and began to again give Jayden kisses which stopped his fussing on the spot:-) She is all ready for Addison! Love you guys:-) Sue

  4. The pictures get better every day! Love the coordinated outfits for the panda visit -- Addison's black and white sun dress is just perfect! You know that the picture of Daddy and Daughter's matching outfits (which I love) is going to be all over Parkland Eric. Jason will never let you live it down.

So happy that Addison loved the pool -- it runs in the family, you know. We have a brand new float waiting for her. Robin will be happy to know there is a new one for grownups, too.

    Keep enjoying your amazing adventures.

    Love you, Aunt Linda

  5. I hope you guys don't mind all the reminiscing...when we met Natalie, she didn't have her pincer grasp yet, so couldn't pick up her Cheerios. Henry proceeded to feed them to her, 1 by 1, w/chopstix! She loved it! The 1st day we met Natalie, Henry took her into the pool & she loved it also - we always kid her & say thats why shes such a great swimmer today ( she swims on the EMAC competitive team) So maybe you too have a future Olypmpian swimmer on your hands! AJ is SO cute, love all the outfits , it sounds like you are all having a wonderful time getting to know each other. I simply can't wait to meet her. When can Natalie babysit for her???? I know she'll want to! Pat Luftman

  6. It is so wonderful to see the pictures of this awesome trip but the happiness on the faces is the part that I love the most. AJ is so adorable I can't wait to hold her myself. She has so many people that want to meet her that I'm thinking it will take weeks to get through that list. Keep posting and keep enjoying. Robin, the green hair is not noticable because your smile covers it up. Eric you look great holding your daughter. Happy family= happy friends. xoxo Cindy

  7. From MOM--so our little diva had a meltdown--get used to it as there will be many others (where was that lollipop when you needed it--a quick cure)Love the picture of Eric & Addison in their traditional Chinese clothing (I have to admit Bill & myself had a good chuckle) Sounds like the zoo was fun but it is hard to enjoy in 100 and humid--the pool sounds A lot better. Six more days-can't wait till your home safely--love Mom & Bill

  9. Cut your hair 4"?? I had visions of you getting your haircut when you were little!! Ouch! What fun things you are doing--you are opening a whole new world for Addison! She could be a model in all her beautiful clothing. Sometimes the shots don't react until later plus 100 degrees?? I would have had a meltdown too. At least she is relaxed enough to fall asleep without being in a crib---thats great! Less then a week away--CANNOT WAIT! Exciting days coming up! We love you--Hugs, Kisses and lots of loving. Mom and Marty

  10. The pictures are priceless!! I am still in shock over how green your hair got! I've seen a hint of green before but nothing like that! Earlier in the trip you guys mentioned that Robin was the only blond woman and people were fascinated with her...how are they reacting now that she has gone punk rocker?
Addison is SO adorable, it looks like she is enjoying every moment with you as much as you are with her!!
We are enjoying taking this trip with you and love seeing you guys as a happy family!!!
    Love, Kelly & Jim

  11. Its Aunt Susie again - I think we might have a budding star for America's top model in 2028. All her outfits are so cute. I think my favorite 2 pictures are Robin & Addison in the pool - I hope the summer weather continues for along time so we all can play at Aunt Linda's pool. The other is Eric and Addison in the Red traditional outfits. I'll have your back if anyone teases you. Keep enjoying every minute. We miss you and love you. Hugs and kisses.

  15. Hi Roberts Family!
Every day we fall more in love with our niece! She is absolutely precious! She looks sooo cute in her Chinese attire! By the way, Eric makes a heck of a Geisha Girl! Brayden said, "I love you and miss you soo much! I can't wait to hug Addison!"
Anna and I can't wait to play with our little niece! Showing her all about how to be a great Phillies and Eagles fan will be fun! Also, Robin, it's great to see you add GREEN to your repetoire of hair colors! What shade of green would Crayola call it?? We love you and miss you all! Have fun as we count down the days for you all to come home! Hugs and kisses!

    Love,

    Jeff, Anna, Brayden and Hailey
